Uninstall Apps On An Iphone 2g

Just as with other versions of the iPhone, you are able to download and install applications, or "apps," onto the iPhone 2G. Such apps let you play games, read breaking news stories and check national sports scores directly on the phone. Removing apps that you no longer use or aren't a fan of frees up memory and saves your phone's battery. Removing the app from iTunes is also recommended to prevent accidentally reinstalling the application onto the phone.

Instructions

Remove From iPhone

1. Turn on the iPhone.

2. Touch and hold down the app icon for several seconds. The icon begins to shake, or wiggle, and a black "X" icon appears in the top left part of the app.

3. Press the "X" icon. A verification window opens on the iPhone screen.

4. Press "Delete" inside the window. The app is uninstalled.

Delete From iTunes

5. Open iTunes on the computer that's been synced with the iPhone.

6. Click "Apps" under "Library" in the left part of the program. The apps you've downloaded and installed appear inside iTunes.

7. Click the app inside iTunes that you deleted in Section 1.

8. Press "Delete" on the keyboard. A message appears in iTunes.

9. Click "Remove" in the message. The app is uninstalled from iTunes and won't sync with the iPhone again.
