According to Archos.com, the Archos WiFi 605 160GB PMP (portable media player) can be customized to "fit your lifestyle." The device is very versatile, allowing you to surf the Web, stream and watch television, and play all your favorite music. Plug-ins and accessories are available through Archos.com.
Display and Capacity
The Archos WiFi 605 160 GB can store up to 200 movies, 1 million photos or 95,000 songs, according to Archos.com. The 4.3-inch TFT LCD touch screen supports a resolution of 800-by-480 pixels.
Connections and Interface
The PMP utilizes a USB 2.0 interface. The device has a Wi-Fi connection, standard 802.11g, and has a 3.5 mm mini jack available for headphone connection. Docking connectors are also available for connection to the DVR station and other Archos accessories, according to Archos.com.
Playback and Recording
The PMP can playback MPEG-4 files and AVI files up to DVD resolution. It also plays MP3, WMA and WAV audio files. Video recording is compatible with NTSC/PAL/SECAM in MPEG-4 AVI format. The maximum recording resolution is 640 pixels by 480 pixels at 30 or 25 frames per second.
Battery and Power
The player offers 177 minutes of continuous music play and 5.57 hours of continuous video play. The internal lithium-ion polymer battery can be powered via computer with a USB charger or optional power charger.
