To ensure that your forklift runs well, it's important to maintain the battery properly. Forklifts run on large rechargeable batteries that require separate chargers to be connected to them. Even though these are industrial components, their usage is fairly straightforward.
Instructions
1. Use your forklift battery until the indicator on the top of the battery says that it is down to about 20 percent. Turn off your forklift and remove the battery from the unit.
2. Place the battery on the charging unit and set the dial on the unit to "Weekend," "Equalize" or "Weekly." These vary depending on the type of industrial charger you are using.
3. Plug the charger cable into the port on the top of the battery. An LED light will appear on the charger informing you that the battery is charging.
4. Wait until the LED light on the charger changes color, signifying that charging is complete. The gauge on the battery will also display when it is fully charged.
