Unlock Your Phone For Other Sim Cards

If you're tired of your current cell phone carrier, and want to move to a new want, and you want to take your phone with you, you can't just start using the phone. Most carriers have their phones locked so that they can only be used on their own networks. Fortunately, it is possible for you to be able to unlock the phone so you can take it with you to your new network.

Instructions

1. Contact your old carrier and ask if they can unlock your phone. Some phone networks will give you the information you need to unlock your phone after a certain period of time, or if you pay a certain fee for the unlocking information.

2. Find the IMEI Number of your cell phone. This can be found by dialing #*06# on your keypad.

3. Look for a phone unlocking service on the Internet. You'll need to find an unlocking service that is capable of unlocking your specific phone. Be sure to contact the service to see if it can unlock your phone.

4. Provide the unlocking service with any information they need. This typically includes your name, an email address, your phone's original carrier, and the IMEI number you retrieved earlier. You may also need to pay a fee for the service. After you provide this information, an email should arrive with the code to unlock the phone.

5. Enter the code into the phone. The instructions to do this vary from phone to phone, but generally are included in the email.
