Repair A Memory Stick Duo

Repair a Memory Stick Duo

The Memory Stick Duo format is a proprietary flash memory format for use in Sony branded devices. Very similar to the SD card format, Memory Stick Duo cards can be used to add extra storage to phones, cameras, and gaming devices. Among other things, these cards are required to save game data on the Sony PSP portable gaming systems. Unfortunately, these devices can malfunction and become unusable due to corrupt memory sectors. Fixing this problem is usually as simple as a reformat, which should only take a few moments to complete.

Instructions

1. Insert your USB-to-Memory Stick converter into your computer's USB slot.

2. Open "Windows Explorer" and locate your Memory Stick Duo. It should be located under "Removable Storage Devices."

3. Right-click the Memory Stick to open a contextual menu, then select "Format."

4. Highlight "Quick Format" from the formatting window, then select "Format" to initiate the formatting process.
