Sell Boiled Peanuts

There are no shortage of people who prefer their peanuts boiled. They prefer the softer, smoother taste of the boiled peanut to the standard nut straight out of the shell. If you want to set up shop selling boiled peanuts, you have a number of options, from selling alongside other produce growers to making your own produce stand.

Instructions

1. Take your peanuts to the farmer's market. Many communities offer a place for local farmers to set up and sell their produce. Often there is a set day of the week where farmers can come sell their wares and the community comes to buy locally.

2. Rent space at a local flea market. Alongside the vendors hawking baseball cards and books, you will often see people selling produce at your area flea market. Usually open only on weekends, these markets usually provide a steady flow of customers on Saturdays and Sundays.

3. Set up a roadside stand. Use your own property if it fronts a major road or find someone who will either let you set up for free or will only charge a nominal rental fee. You can set up a quick makeshift stand or sell out of the back of a pickup truck or SUV.

4. Sell from your home. You can take out a classified ad or make a listing on the Internet on such sites as Craigslist, providing your phone number and address for people to contact you. You can also put out a sign on the road directing people to your property. This may be the most convenient option, although it can be a nuisance when people show up at a bad time.

Tips Warnings

Check to see what other produce growers in your area charge for their boiled peanuts to make sure your prices are in line with the local market. Otherwise you may not make many sales.
