Canvas pants require specific cleaning steps.
Canvas may not make up a large percentage of your wardrobe, so it can be confusing to know clean it when it becomes dirty. It is always best to follow the specific guidelines of the garment you are cleaning, but if directions are not available, don't despair. Thankfully, the methodology isn't very complicated.
Instructions
1. Wet a clean sponge and squeeze out the excess water.
2. Apply a tiny drop of liquid laundry soap formulated for hand washing and delicate items to the sponge.
3. Dab the moistened soapy part of the sponge on the dirt stain on your pants. Avoid excessive or hard rubbing, as this can make the stain worse.
4. Continue this method of re-moistening the sponge and adding more soap in small amounts until the dirt has been loosened and removed.
5. Machine-wash the pants in warm water with a liquid detergent. Tumble-dry your pants on low heat in the dryer or allow them to line-dry.
Tips Warnings
Avoid using bleach on canvas, even if the canvas is white. Bleach can actually have the opposite of the desired whitening effect and yellow your pants.
