Moen Kitchen Fawcett Removal Instructions

Moen faucets are easy to remove.

Moen is one of the world's largest manufacturers of kitchen and bathroom faucets. It offers an array of faucet designs, including one-handle, two-handle and pullout faucets that can fit any standard counter. You can repair most Moen faucets by replacing a cartridge in the base of the faucet, but if the leak is in the pipes or the faucet is severely damaged you will need to remove the whole assembly in order to make repairs.

Instructions

1. Turn off the water to the sink. You can do this at the main water supply, but most kitchen sinks have an independent valve that you can use to turn off the water only to the appliance.

2. Pry upward on the base of the index plate with a flathead screwdriver. The index plate is at the base of the faucet and covers the faucet handle retaining screws. Be careful when prying up the index plate so the screwdriver doesn't slip and scratch up the counter's finish.

3. Remove the retaining screw located under the index plate with a Phillip's screwdriver. Pull off the faucet's handle.

4. Turn the bonnet nut at the top of the faucet counterclockwise with adjustable pliers. Remove the bonnet nut.

5. Pull up on the faucet to remove it from the sink.
