Connect A Converter Box To A Dish Receiver

A dish receiver is the box you connect your television to when you use a satellite dish to access television programming. If you have an analog television and are having trouble viewing content over your digital dish receiver you may need to use a converter box to convert the digital signal of the receiver to an analog signal suitable for your television set.

Instructions

1. Power off all of your TV-related electronics.

2. Attach a coaxial cable to the "Out" port of the satellite dish receiver. Take the other end of the coaxial cable and screw it into the "In" port of the converter box. You can purchase a converter box at most large retail stores. You can also find them at electronics stores.

3. Take your second coaxial cable and insert it into the "Out" port of the converter box. Insert the other end of the coaxial cable into the "In" port of the television.

4. Power on the three devices. Adjust your television set to station 3 (or possibly 2 or 4, depending on what the default setting of your television is). Leave your converter box as is and use the satellite receiver remote to change the channels. You do not need to touch the converter box remote. It only acts as a middle man to convert the signal.
