Connect A Denon Avr1909 Receiver To A Sony Bravia Xbr6 Tv To Receive Audio

The Sony Bravia XBR6 is a high-definition LCD TV with a variety of inputs for hooking up other audio/video components. The Denon AVR-1909 receiver supports 7.1 surround sound audio and digital high-definition connections for TV sets such as the Bravia. The best way to connect the two components for HD video and digital audio is with a High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) cable. The six-sided plug on each end of the cable contains 19 metal pins to transmit video data and up to eight channels of digital audio.

Instructions

1. Unplug the Sony's and the Denon receiver's electrical cords from the power outlet.

2. Insert one end of the HDMI cable into any of the four HDMI ports on the back panel of the Sony Bravia TV with the wider edge of the plug facing upward.

3. Insert the plug on the other end of the HDMI cable into one of the ports on the back panel of the Denon receiver.

4. Plug in the power cords and turn on the equipment.

5. Press the Denon remote control button that corresponds to the HDMI port connecting it with the Sony, for example, HDMI 1 or HDMI 2.
