Bose Radio Instructions

The Bose Radio provides high acoustic quality within a simple and small design. The high-performance stereo tuner comes with six AM and six FM station presets and provides input for additional sources such as a TV, DVD, VCR or computer. The Bose Radio package also includes credit card--size remote control for convenience.

Proper Location

Select a proper location for your Bose Radio. Ensure that your radio rests on a flat surface that is clear of metal obstructions that could interfere with the radio's reception. Keep the radio at least 12 inches from televisions and computers, and position it within 2 feet of a wall for the best bass performance.

Preparation

Insert a new 9-volt battery into the radio. The battery maintains the clock, alarm settings and backup alarm system. It does not provide power for the radio operation. Connect the power cord to the electrical outlet. Ensure that you unwind the cord completely before plugging it into the outlet for the best-quality FM reception, which is built into the cord. The radio's time settings will need to be configured. Press and hold the Time button to set the time. Use the Time arrows to apply the correct time. Insert the battery into the remote control by removing the battery cover. Insert the battery with the positive (+) symbol facing up. Replace the battery cover. Your remote control is designed to operate the most frequently used radio functions. It will work up to 20 feet from the system and up to 6 feet from either side.

Using Your Radio

Power-on your radio by pressing the On/Off button on the radio or the remote control. Choose the radio as your audio source by selecting FM or AM. This can also be completed using the control panel of the radio or the remote control. You can set your radio to shut off automatically by pressing the Sleep/Snooze button. Choose the shut-off time in 10-minute increments, up to 90 minutes. Select your preferred radio station by using the Track/Tune arrows to move through the station options. You can establish preset stations using the control panel. Press and hold one of the Preset buttons until the Preset button light displays. Once you have configured your preset options, you can use your remote control to tune to those selected stations. If you are listening to a preset station, the preset number will appear along with the station frequency on the display screen.

Maintenance

Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the outside of your unit. Do not use cleaning agents or solutions containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives to clean the device. If liquids get into the radio, turn the system off immediately and contact Bose Product Support for assistance. Replace your radio's battery once a year. Do not unplug the radio when replacing the battery. You can check your battery before replacing it. Turn the radio off. Hold down the Alarm Setup button and press CD Stop. The radio will display the battery life. A display of Hi or the number 78 or above indicates a good battery. The number 77 or below indicates limited available voltage. A Lo display indicates that the battery must be replaced immediately.
