The Cannon Powershot A520 is a digital camera that comes with 16mb of internal memory. If you want additional storage, you will have to purchase an external memory card. The Powershot A520 is compatible with two main types of memory cards. Choose which type of storage will best fit your needs.
SD Memory Cards
Secure Digital memory cards measure 24 mm x 32 mm x 2.1 mm and come with a capacity of up to 2GB. An SD card device will not accept an SDHC memory card. The Cannon PowerShot A520 will only accept standard SD memory cards.
MultiMedia Cards
The Cannon PowerShot A520 can also use a MultiMedia card. Standard MultiMedia cards are close to the same size as standard SD cards but have smaller memory. They have transfer rates of up to104MB per second.
Memory That is Not Compatible
Newer memory card formats, including SDHC and SDXC, do not work in the Cannon A520. Among MultiMedia cards, there are the new eMMC cards, which have greater capacity, but do not work with the CannonA520.
