Troubleshoot A Kodak Z760

The Kodak Z760 is a discontinued 6.1 megapixel digital camera with a professional-grade 3x optical zoom lens. Additional features include 2.2 inch display screen, five color modes, one-touch photo sharing and 16-scene selections. Due to its discontinued status, phone and email support is no longer available for the camera. To resolve any problems, you can perform some basic troubleshooting instead of bringing it to a camera-repair shop.

Instructions

1. Place the Kodak Z760 on a Kodak printer or camera dock. If you have lost power or the camera has frozen, this action can sometimes restore function. Charging or replacing the batter for the camera can also help resolve frozen or dead camera issues.

2. Connect the Kodak Z760 to a Kodak 5-volt adapter and plug it into a wall outlet if you think that the battery is the cause of the power failure,

3. Use the USB cable to transfer all of the pictures on the camera to the Kodak EasyShare software installed on your computer. This can resolve full memory problems as well as distorted review screens that appear while in display mode. If you have never installed Kodak EasyShare, you can download the latest version from the Kodak website.

4. Switch your memory storage method. The Kodak Z760 allows you to store pictures internally or on a SD card. Remove the SD card to switch to internal memory to see if the memory card is the problem.

5. Clean off the camera with a dry cloth. Make sure you dust the contacts found in the battery compartment. Cleaning the lens can also help resolve issues where your pictures come out blurry or distorted.

6. Toggle through the different flash settings of the Kodak Z760 by pushing the "Flash/Status" button at the top of the camera if your pictures have lighting issues. Options include auto flash, fill, red-eye reduction and off.
