The Samsung Moment is a CDMA smartphone running the Android operating system. The Moment features a slot for a microSD memory card to complement the phone's internal storage. A 2 GB microSD memory card is included with the phone, but the phone can accept cards with storage capacities up to 16 GB. You can prepare a memory card for use in your Samsung Moment by formatting it in the phone's settings.
Instructions
1. Slide your Moment's battery cover off of the back of the phone, lift the battery out and insert your microSD memory card into the memory slot. The gold contacts on your microSD card should face down toward the screen.
2. Insert your battery and turn your Moment on.
3. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Settings" on your Moment's touchscreen.
4. Tap "SD card & phone storage" and tap "Unmount SD card." Unmounting the SD card prevents running applications from accessing it while you are formatting your card.
5. Tap "Format SD card," then tap "Format SD card" and select "Erase everything." All of the data on your microSD card will be erased and your card will be ready for use in your Moment.
