Instructions
1. Gather the parts that you will need. The easiest way to build the circuitry is to purchase a kit. It is usually cheaper and requires less knowledge to build. You will also need five (5) Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) switches, a power input jack, a microphone jack, a speaker/headphone jack.
2. Time for the Fun! Let's build the kit! Open it up and be certain that you know identify each part. Get out the instructions for building the kit. Install the parts in the order stated in the instructions. Leave out the four (4) momentary switches, the slide power switch, the battery leads, the speaker, and the microphone. Use the additional parts purchased instead. Build the kit.
3. Grab your project box and drill the holes for the additional parts. You will need to drill holes for five (5) on/off switches, one power port, and two phono jacks. It should look like this when complete.
4. Install the five (5) switches, the power port, and the two phono jacks. The completed box should look something like this.
5. Time to install all of the extra parts. You will probably need some extra wire to do these installations. Something between 18 gauge and 26 gauge should work fine. If you don't have any just laying around the house, you can purchase the 18ga at a home improvement store. Solid wire will be MUCH easier to work with.
6. Now that you have all the parts installed let's hook it up. You'll need to hook up an AC to 9VDC converter to the power port. Hook up any adapters needed to hookup the speaker / microphone jacks to your cell phone or cordless phone.
7. Use the power switch to turn on the device. Call the unsuspecting person using the phone. Flip on one of the voice changing switches and have fun.
