There's nothing more frustrating than being unable to access your handheld organizer or use it to listen to music on-demand. If you're having trouble, follow these steps to troubleshoot an HP iPAQ.
Instructions
1. Read the owner's manual. At least read the beginning "getting started" chapters. This will familiarize you with the iPAQ (if you're a new user) and avoid a great deal of confusion.
2. Call HP technical support over the phone at 1-800-HPinvent (1-800-474-6836).
3. Be sure that your batteries are charged and that all wires are plugged in properly.
4. Visit the website for technical support. You can ask HP for support over the Internet.
5. Download all the latest updates for your HP iPAQ. There's a chance a bug or other malfunction has already been addressed by HP and can be fixed by a free download from their website.
6. Check for conflicting software. If you've added anything to your HP iPAQ that wasn't part of its original programming or software, there's a chance one or more of your programs aren't compatible.
7. Perform a soft reset. This will close all running programs and restart your HP iPAQ without erasing any data. It can often clear up a frozen handheld device or other minor problem.
8. Perform a hard reset. This will completely wipe out your HP iPAQ. returning it to factory specifications. If the problem still persists, your iPAQ is likely broken.
