Connect A Mini Dvd Camcorder To A Computer

If you make videos or use complicated video editing programs, it is essential to know connect a mini DVD camcorder to a computer. The process is very simple, and requires just one wire and a quick connection to get your videos online.


Instructions








1. Ensure that your computer has a Firewire, or 1394 connection. If not, install one to your desktop computer or purchase a removeable PC card for your laptop. Once installed and functioning, proceed to Step 2.








2. Find the DV, Digital, 1394 or Firewire connection on your mini DVD camcorder. This small, flat connection has an indent. Connect the smaller end of the wire to that port.


3. Find the 1394 or Firewire connection on your computer and connect the larger end of the wire to that.


4. Turn the camera to VCR mode, or the mode that allows you to view movies on the camcorder.


5. Windows will install any necessary drivers for the camcorder, and you can post videos to websites such as YouTube upon completion.
