Install Windows Mobile Games

Windows Mobile-based Smartphones are able to install and run thousands of different mobile games available for the platform. Thanks to the available installation setup, you can install the games you want to play. The key to these installs are the .Cab files available for WindowsMobile, which offer one click on device setup.

Instructions

Install Windows Mobile Games

1. Install ActiveSync on your Windows XP Operating System or WindowsMobile Device Center for Windows Vista. These files can be found at the official Windows Mobile website (see Additional Resources). Download the installer to your computer and follow the default installation directions included when the application launches on your PC.

2. Find the games you want to download using popular Windows Mobile application websites such as Handango and Mobihand (see Additional Resources). WindowsMobile also offers some free applications.

3. Check the "device requirements" for the games you want to play. For instance some games want Windows Mobile 6.0 and higher whereas others may allow access starting at Windows 2003 or even older mobile OS versions. Some sites such as Handango allow you to pick your device, which, in turn, only allows the site to display applications that are compatible with your particular handset.

4. Download the programs .CAB (Cabinet) file directly to your computer's desktop. Typically, the download process only takes a few seconds due to the small size of most mobile games.

5. Plug in your phone to your computer using your included data sync cable. You should see an auto play window; click on "Files and Folders," or, if you prefer, you can open your "My Computer" window and find the icon titled "Mobile Device" and open that option.

6. Drag the .CAB file from your computer desktop into the main section of your mobile drive. Disconnect your mobile after moving the file to your phone.

7. Click on your "Windows Start Button" on your device and find the "File Explorer" option. When you open File Explorer, you should see the .CAB file that you dragged to the main folder; you shouldn't have to navigate to any folders unless you installed your .CAB file in a different folder.

8. Click on the .CAB file, and it will auto install. Wait for the program to say that the .CAB file has successfully installed. Your game is now ready to play.
