Troubleshoot the problems with your Canon SLR lens.
The digital Canon Rebel is similar to other digital SLR cameras which save their media onto an inserted memory card. Although digital cameras are fairly intuitive devices and technologically-reliable, it is not unheard of for the Canon Rebel to run into the occasional problem. If this is the case for you, there are a few troubleshooting pointers you can follow to help correct the issue.
Instructions
1. Insert fresh batteries into your Canon Rebel. If the camera powers down when you are attempting to take pictures or the flash is not firing, this is due to insufficient battery power. Changing out the batteries will correct this issue.
2. Remove the current memory card. If the memory card is full, you cannot save additional pictures to it. Additionally, if the card has become corrupt (typically from ejecting it from a computer while it is still being read), the card may not work on the Canon camera so replacing it is necessary.
3. Hold down the power button and leave the camera off for a few minutes. Power the camera back on to complete the camera reset. If you initially turned on the camera and the digital LCD screen displayed jagged images or an all blue screen, the camera reset will correct these problems.
4. Wipe the front of the lens with a lens cleaning cloth if spots appear on all of your images. This is due to a dirty lens. If the spots persist, remove the lens from the camera (hold down the lens release button to the right of the lens and turn it left). Clean off the inside of the camera lens for any dust stuck to the glass then reattach the lens to the camera.
