Motorized valve for zone control

Motorized Valve for Zone Control

I have a Honeywell v8043f1036 motorized valve on my hot water heating system. It is a three zone system . The one valve make a humming sound like it is still tring to close . It stops if I lightly tap it with my finger. Is this motorize valve failing? Or does the mechanizm not some clean or lube? thanks Originally Posted by 560Dennis I have a Honeywell v8043f1036 motorized valve on my hot water heating system. It is a three zone system . The motor stays energized the whole time the valve is opened. Once the temp is reached the power to the motor from the thermostat drops out and a spring pulls the valve closed. If the motor is humming it could be on it's way out. you can buy and replace just the motor by removing one screw without having to replace the whole head. How hot does it get cheap and easy to do or it could just be a vibration and nothing wrong... How hot does it get I WILL BURN MY HAND IF I TRY TO TOUCH IT FOR A SHORT TIME. cheap and easy to do WHERE DO I GET THE MOTOR? Some plumbing supply houses carry them but not many, at least in my area. For an online source, you might want to try patriot-supply.com. A local sid harveys is where I get them check this page that's about the most you should pay http://www.hdsupply.ca/webapp/wcs/st...tegoryId=10881 https://www.hdsupply.ca/webapp/wcs/s...tegoryId=10398 Grady had pointed you in the right direction for online Grainger and Home Depot sells them. Check eBay. There are often new heads and motors offered over there, at a fraction of what you will pay not being in the trades. Pete
