Syncing Windows Mobile with Hotmail gives you access to your Windows Live email account and contacts even when you are away from a computer. Changes made to your Hotmail inbox in Windows Mobile are reflected on your computer, just as email and contact updates made on your computer are pushed to Windows Mobile. This ensures that the data carried on your Windows Mobile smartphone is always updated. Windows Mobile automatically detects when you are configuring a Hotmail account on the phone, directing you through a streamlined sync process.
Instructions
1. Click "Getting Started" from the Windows Mobile home screen.
2. Select the "Set up an e-mail account" hyperlink from the "Getting Started" welcome page.
3. Type your full Hotmail address in the E-mail address field. Enter your Hotmail password in the corresponding field and check the "Save password" box to enable automatic syncing between Windows Mobile and Hotmail. If this box is unchecked, you must type the password each time the two services synchronize.
4. Click the "Next' softkey.
5. Review the on-screen prompts to configure your Windows Live Hotmail account in Windows Mobile. On these screens, you can configure your Windows Mobile device to import the contacts list from your Windows Live Hotmail account, which can save you time and having to manually type contacts into Windows Mobile.
6. Click "Next" after configuring Windows Live account settings on the smartphone. Upon finishing the wizard, clicking "Next" begins the first-time sync between Windows Mobile and Hotmail.
