Hook Up My Canon Camera To My Lcd Sanyo Tv

You don't have to think too long to find a reason why a camera that can plug directly into your TV is helpful. With a direct connection between your Canon camera and Sanyo LCD TV, you can review you photos on a large screen or get the family together to look at pictures of your trip to Cancun. Setting this up isn't difficult; you just need to have the right cables.

Instructions

1. Check your camera box to see if your camera shipped with any TV hookup cables. Some retailers will include these cables as a bonus or purchasing incentive, but in most cases you will have to buy a separate cable to connect your Canon camera to your LCD TV. Canon sells two kinds of mini HDMI cables for HD-ready cameras so that you can watch your videos in HD on an HDTV. For photos and non-HD video cameras, you can use an AV cable to display your cameras contents on your TV.

2. Check your Sanyo TV to see which kinds of inputs you have available, or which inputs your TV supports. Most Sanyo LCD TVs support HDMI cables, and all TVs have a AV hookup cables, which are red, white and yellow. Make sure you have a free spot for the kind of cable your camera uses.

3. Attach the cable to the side of your Canon camera. Different camera models have the output jacks in different locations. Look for a component, video or HDMI output port beside where you plug in the USB cable to your camera. On some of Canon's compact point-and-shoot models, the video out port is concealed beneath a small panel on the back of the camera, under the shutter button. Refer to your manual if you aren't sure or can't find it.

4. Connect the other end of the cable to corresponding input on your Sanyo LCD TV. If you connected an HDMI cable to your camera, plug the other end into the HDMI port; if you connected the AV cable, connect the other end into the corresponding yellow, white and red ports -- though you only need to connect the red and white cables for videos with sound. Turn the camera on and turn on your TV.

5. Press the "review" or "playback" button on your Canon camera, which is represented by a "play" icon. Use your TV remote to choose the corresponding input. The images from your camera display on your TV. Use the camera's control pad to move through pictures and to play videos. Press left and right to scroll through the images or zoom in and out to see an area of a photo or to see more than one photo at once.
