Convert An Mp3 To A Ringtone For Motorola

Motorola is the manufacturer that produces popular cell phone models, including the Motorola RAZR. Typically, cell phone service providers such as Verizon and AT&T make it difficult to upload MP3s as ringtones to Motorola phones. Converting the MP3 beforehand will make the file compatible as a Motorola ringtone.

Instructions

1. Access your phone's home screen by selecting the middle key on your handset's keypad. Click Get Tunes & Tones. The location of this setting on your phone depends on your service provider.

2. Click Record New Tone.

3. Press Options. In the field noting the type of memory card the phone uses, select Mini-SD Card. Return to the Record New Tone screen.

4. Record the audio. The length of the audio clip does not matter, and it can be a recording of any sound you like. Turn off the phone upon completion.

5. Remove the memory card from the Motorola phone. The location of the card varies depending on your phone model. Typically, the memory card slot is located on the bottom edge of the handset. Insert the card into the SecureDigital (SD) memory card reader and connect the reader to your computer.

6. Open My Computer and double-click the drive icon for the memory card. You will see a file on the phone's memory card that ends in .qcp. This is the audio clip you recorded.

7. Drag the MP3 file onto the memory card. Click the QCP file, copy it and then delete it. Highlight the MP3 file and paste the QCP file that you just copied and deleted. The MP3 data will remain on the memory card, but it will be labeled as the QCP audio file that your phone recorded.

8. Reinsert the memory card into your Motorola phone and turn it back on. Access your audio recordings. You will see the audio recording, which is now your MP3 file. Select it and press Set as Ringtone.
