Use Twitterberry

BlackBerry users have many applications they can use to make their phone more fun. One of these applications is Twitterberry. It allows Twitter addicts to update and keep up with their fellow Tweeps. It is, of course, a little different than the web based Twitter they all know and love, but it is easy to learn.

Instructions

1. Download the application. Go to the Orangatame website from your mobile browser. You will be guided through a series of prompts. Once you go through the prompts, the phone will restart. At the restart a new Twitterberry icon will be on your menu. It should be a big blue T.

2. Open the Twitterberry application. Open the application just like any other BlackBerry application. It will ask you to log in. Use your Twitter user name and password. You can also opt to have the application remember your log in info. If you do this, it will automatically log in when you open the application.

3. Send a Tweet. The first screen will ask you “What are you doing?” You will be able to key in your Tweet just like a text message. Once you are done, press the trackball. A menu will pop up. Select "Update" from the menu. Your update may take a minute, so don't worry if it doesn’t go through immediately. Once the Tweet is posted, a "Success" box will come up. Press your trackball to clear this box.

4. See your friend's time line. Press the trackball again. This time select the "Friends Time Line" option. Your friends time line will load up on the page. If you see a tweet you want to reply to or you want to send a direct message, highlight that Tweet and click the menu button. This menu will allow you to open the Tweet (longer Tweets may be cut off), DM or reply.

5. Access your replies, DMs and your own time line. If you are in your Friends Time Line, press the menu button and select "Close." It will take you back to the update screen. Press the menu button again, and another menu will pop up. This menu will give you access to your replies, the direct messages you have sent and received, your own time line and even the public time line. All of these screens work very similar to the Friends Time Line. Scroll to the message and click the menu button. It will give you a list of your options.
