Fix A Kodak Easyshare Series 3 Printer Dock

Kodak's EasyShare printer dock allows picture printing directly from your Kodak camera.

The Kodak EasyShare Series 3 printer dock is designed to print pictures directly from your Kodak camera, without the need to first load them onto the computer. However, it is important to ensure that the correct software is installed and updated on the computer and that only Kodak products are used with the device. There are a number of minor issues that can affect the printer and docking system, all of which have a simple process to fix.

Instructions

1. Check you have the latest Kodak EasyShare software installed on your computer. Using the computer menu, select click on "Help", then "About Kodak EasyShare software." If you have an older version than 5.1, download the latest printer dock software.

2. Check that the large end of the AC power cable is inserted into the power outlet. Check that the small end of the AC power cable is inserted into the DC-in port on the back of the printer.

3. Ensure the correct Kodak ink cartridges are installed in the printer. Third-party cartridges are not specifically designed for all Kodak printers.

4. Remove all dust and dirt buildup from the dock and printer. Unplug all the cables and use a dry cloth to clean all the ports. Clean the cooling vent at the back of the printer with a dry cloth. Dust buildup can cause the printer to overheat, causing it automatically shutdown or function incorrectly.

5. Move the printer to a new location where it gains plenty of ventilation and is away from direct sunlight and other powered devices such as your computer tower. This will keep the printer at the recommended heat level while operating.

6. Reset the printer and dock by switching the printer off and removing the AC power cable. Leave it for 20 seconds and then reconnect and turn on the power.
