Put Etrex In Demo Mode

The Garmin eTrex is a lightweight, handheld personal navigation system with a built-in GPS antenna and a backlit display. The eTrex stores a variety of mapping- and navigation-related information, including up to 500 waypoints and 10 previous tracks. The eTrex demo mode allows users to show someone most of the eTrex functions and features in an area that doesn't have satellite reception. Putting your eTrex in demo mode doesn't require any special passwords or PINs--simply the push of a few buttons to access the system settings and switch from normal navigation-capable mode to demo mode.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Garmin eTrex.

2. Push the "Page" button repeatedly until you've highlighted the "Menu" page. Push the "Enter" button to open the Menu page.

3. Press the "Down" button to highlight "Setup" on the Menu page and then press "Enter." Go to "System" and press "Enter."

4. Press "Enter" again on the System page that appears to display the Mode options. Highlight and select "Demo" from the options. Push the "Enter" button to confirm that you want to turn off the GPS and put the eTrex in demo mode.
