Put A Meade Telescope Together

Meade telescopes are made for celestial observation. Meade produces a variety of different powered scopes with a range of eyepieces and accessories. Each scope has a different method of setup that is dictated by the aforementioned accessories or eye optics. There is a basic formula for putting the telescopes together, regardless of the add-ons and extras. Once they are assembled, you can enjoy viewing planets, comets and galaxies in the cosmos.

Instructions

1. Set up the tripod. Pull the legs out and down and let them snap into position in the locked and outright extensions. Place the main optic chamber (the largest of the barrels) onto the tripod and align the set screw in the center of the tripod with the tripod mount hole on the bottom of the optic barrel.

2. Place the bottom "clam shell" of the Solarmax eyepiece onto the clam shell on the back top of the main optic barrel. Slide them together so they snap into one piece.

3. Turn the helical adjuster clockwise until you feel resistance, then stop. The helical adjuster is the band just behind the eye viewing piece on the Solarmax eyepiece.

4. Connect any spotting scope (if your Meade telescope is equipped) to the small mounting bracket on the top of the Solarmax eyepiece. The spotting scope is used to target objects you wish to view in the larger optic barrel.

5. Direct the telescope to the dark night sky and begin observing celestial objects and bodies.
