Replace Portable Dvd Batteries

Although most of the time you probably won't need to replace the battery in your portable DVD player, some times the battery life does run out. Instead of buying a new player, you can get a new battery and install it so that the portable DVD player lasts you for several more years.

Instructions

1. Check with the manufacturer. In some cases, your battery may be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. You send them the old battery and they'll mail you a new one in a few weeks.

2. Look online for the portable DVD battery. If it is not covered under a warranty, shop online for a replacement battery. Batteries.com offers discounted portable DVD player batteries.

3. Take out the old battery. Once the battery arrives in the mail, remove the old battery from the player. In most cases, you simply hit the battery lock and you can pull out the battery.

4. Dispose of the battery in the proper receptacle. Batteries are not normally disposed of in the regular trash. Check with your town about where to drop off old batteries for disposal.

5. Charge the new battery. While you are getting rid of the old battery, plug in the new battery so that it starts to charge up. It may need to be charged for several hours before operation.

6. Slide in the new portable DVD player battery. Once the battery is charged, you can begin operating the portable DVD player on battery power.
