Instructions

Clean a Chevrolet S10 CD Player

1. The only way to get the player cleaned without causing any damage to it is by removing it from the car. Make sure you remove the detachable faceplate to avoid scarring it. Use the audio system removing clips to pull the system out of the dashboard.

2. Carefully remove the connections to the player and keep them taped and insulated from each other.

3. Take the player to a workbench and then you can start opening up the player.

4. Now unscrew the top cover. Blow off the dust particles with compressed air flow. Dab some WD40 onto a cotton swab. Grease the rails gently using this swab. Be careful, as the excess force may damage them.

5. Now the most important part, clean the lens of the laser just the same way using an Ethanol sprayed swab. Ensure that the cotton should just be damp and not dripping. Wait till the rails and the lens dry.

6. Put the top cover back and screw it on. Connect the player back into the car.
