The art of making music videos is an amenity that comes a lot easier with modern technology. The software is free to download and user friendly, so any computer user can learn to use it, regardless of technical experience. Your music video can be made to look professional and presentable, with high quality resolution and great sound, in just a matter of minutes. All you need is a great music video concept, a song and some pictures.
Instructions
1. Download the video-making software to your computer's hard drive. (See Resources for link to the program). Click on the Windows Movie Maker "Download" icon. Opt to save the program when the file download window pops up on your computer's screen.
2. Open the video-making program. Click on the "Start" icon and locate the highlighted program in the drop-down menu. The highlighted program usually served as the most recently installed program. Double-click on the highlighted Windows Movie Maker tab folder to open the program.
3. Import any media you may need to create your video. This goes for songs, photos, etc.. Click on "Import Media" at the top of the Windows Movie Maker screen. When the dialog window opens, locate and select your media file from your computer's hard drive. Click on the file and select "Open." Import each media component separately. Repeat the same action to import more media components.
4. Place your media components for the music video in time queue. The time queue will be the long playback bar at the bottom of the Windows Movie Maker screen. Highlight the media component you want to place in the music video and drag it to the time queue. Place each file in the order in which it should appear in the video.
5. Size your media components to edit the timing and capture the music video. Minimize or expand certain media components by simply clicking on the end of the component's box in the time queue and dragging it to the size you desire it to be.
6. Publish your music video. Once your music video is completed, click on the "File" tab and select the "Import Movie" action in the drop-down menu. Choose where you'd like the video to be published to determine its format. Keep all of the Windows Movie Maker recommended settings, and select "Publish."
7. Save your music video to your computer's hard drive. Click on "File" in the navigation menu at the top of the screen, and select the "Save Project As" option. Give your file a name and click "Save As" in the dialog box to store the music video file to your computer's hard drive.
