Connecting an equalizer to your home audio system can help you fine tune the sound for your acoustic environment.
Equalizers are an essential component of any home theater system, but if you do not know set them up, you cannot experience their benefits. They provide you the ability to boost, or cut, certain frequencies to allow for optimal sound from your speakers and your particular environment. Using your receiver's "Tape Out" and "Tape In" jacks, you can send the signal to the equalizer and back to the receiver before amplification. With the right instruction, you can get it set up in fewre than five minutes.
Instructions
1. Unplug the power cables from your equalizer, receiver, and CD player, then make sure the power button is set to "Off" or "Out."
2. Plug one end of a RCA cable into your receiver's "Tape Output" jacks, and the other end into your equalizer's "Main Input" jacks.
3. Connect another RCA cable into your equalizer's "Main Output" jacks, and the other end into your receiver's "Tape Input" jacks.
4. Connect another RCA cable into your CD player's (or any audio device) "Main Output" jacks, and the other end into the equalizer's "Tape Input" jacks. If there are jacks that are specific to your audio device, such as "CD Input," use those instead.
5. Plug the power cables back into the wall sockets and power on the devices. Your equalizer will now be fully integrated into your home audio system.
