You can import music onto your Zune by setting your computer to automatically copy songs from a CD or by manually copying them from a CD. You can also buy them from the Zune Marketplace. You must first put the music onto your computer using Zune software and then sync the music to your Zune player. If you have not had your Zune for long or you are accustomed to another MP3 player, figuring out load songs to your Zune may seem complex and you might need some assistance. Either way, it can be done.
Instructions
Automatically Import CD Music
1. Start the Zune software by double-clicking on the Zune icon on your computer desktop. The "Quickplay" menu screen will appear.
2. To set your Zune software to automatically rip a music CD to your Library, click "Settings" at the top of your window. On the left side of the screen, there will be a menu. Select "Rip" and then click the box for "Rip CD automatically when inserted." Ripping means converting CD files to a format compatible with Zune. Other media players use the term "import."
3. To rip a music CD, insert the CD into your computer. If you have adjusted your settings to automatically rip the CD, it will begin to automatically copy the CD into your Zune collection.
4. Sync your Zune with your computer.

5. Start Zune software by double-clicking on the Zune icon on your computer desktop. The "Quickplay" menu screen will appear.
6. Put the CD in your computer.
7. On the "Quickplay" page, hover your cursor over the CD icon in the lower left corner. It will say "Play, rip or drag items to create burn list." Click on it. The CD's list of music will appear. Select the songs you want to copy and click "Start rip," and wait for the music to download. Your import can now be found in your "Collection."

9. Start Zune software by double-clicking on the Zune icon on your computer desktop. The "Quickplay" menu screen will appear.
10. Click on "Collection" or "Marketplace," located to the right of "Quickplay." Or click on the icon in the middle of the screen; it looks like a shopping cart in the middle of a circle accented by a plus sign. It says, "Shop for Music or Videos."
11. Type a song title, artist name, album or other keyword into the search box in the upper right corner and click on the adjacent magnifying glass. The results page will include music both from your existing collection and Zune Marketplace results.
12. To add a song from the Zune Marketplace, click on it and drag it to your playlist.
13. If you have a Zune Pass, which provides unlimited access to Zune's library, the selected song will immediately appear in your playlist. If you don't have a Zune Pass, you will need to pay for the song. Most selections cost 99 cents. After downloading songs, sync your Zune.
