Update A Card Reader To Make It Sdhc Card Compatible

If you recently bought an SDHC card you may have noticed it does not work with your computer. This is because SDHC is fairly new and most card readers do not support it. SDHC is an SD card that has a larger memory capacity. The HC stands for High Capacity. Typically the SDHC cards contain 4 Gigabytes of memory or more. If you have an SDHC card and want to use it in your card reader, follow these steps to update your card reader.


Instructions


1. First follow the link in the resources section to the Microsoft SDHC update. From here you will need to click on the hotfix add support download. From here you will directed to the Microsoft download page in which you will download the update. Microsoft will first need to validate your version of windows before continuing.


2. After validating your Windows operating system, install the new firmware update for your SDHC card reader and restart your computer.


3. Now you will be able to put your SDHC card with a 4GB or higher capacity in your reader and it will now recognize it. Most people return their cards after realizing that it not compatible with their reader. Little do they know that this update exists to make it compatible with SDHC. Enjoy!
