Fuji Camera Tips

Fuji offers a wide variety of digital point-and-shoot cameras as well as a professional-level SLR, the S5. Many of their point-and-shoot cameras have advanced features such as image-stabilized lenses and face-detection technology for excellent snapshots.

Face Detection

Face-detection technology is a key component of Fuji digital cameras. Face detection can detect up to 10 faces in a scene and optimize the focus and exposure to get excellent shots. The camera can also fix red eye with face detection; the newer models have a self timer face-detection setting that can be used for self timer shots with a couple or with more people.

Scene Modes

Fuji digital cameras have many different scene shooting modes to help the amateur photographer get the best shot. Among the modes are common ones such as natural light, portrait, landscape, sport, macro, night, sunset, beach and snow as well as special ones such as museum, text and auction, which can be used to combine multiple shots and upload them to a website for selling. By telling the camera what type of scene you are shooting, you can get a much more natural-looking shoot. Always use the scene modes, as opposed to just the automatic mode, to get the most out of your Fuji digital camera.

Dual Memory cards

Fuji digital cameras can use two types of memory cards: XD and SD. This gives the photographer flexibility in shooting and the ability to quickly add memory. When one card is full, the photographer can switch quickly to the other. Start with an SD card, which has much greater memory capacity than any XD card. SD cards can be purchased in sizes up to 32GB, while XD is only available up to 2GB. Buy a backup XD card and leave it in the camera so you can switch over to that if needed.
