Introduced in 2000, TiVo emerged to revolutionize the way that people watch television at home. This method of digital video recording allowed viewers to tape their favorite shows and save them to a hard drive connected to their TV. Among the popular manufacturers and distributors of TiVo products in the United Kingdom is Thomson, who offers a remote controller much like the one in the United States. Before you can use the Thomson TiVo remote, you must first program it. This can be done in just minutes with only your remote and your TiVo.
Instructions
1. Select the "TiVo Central" Main menu on your system by scrolling using the arrows and pressing "Enter."
2. Select "Messages and Setup" in the "TiVo Central" menu.
3. Select "Settings" in the next menu and select "Remote Control" in the "Settings" menu.
4. Enter the code for your television or stereo in the code box on the next page. The code can be found in the manual for your remote, or on the page linked below in the "References" section.
5. Press "Select" to finish the programming, and you can now use your remote to control the device that you programmed.
