Unlock Cingular Pantech Phone

The Pantech phone was formerly sold by Cingular, but it is now sold by AT&T. Because it is a flip phone, the Pantech does not have a keypad lock. It does, however, have a feature to lock the device and prevent unwanted phone calls being made by other people. Locking and unlocking the phone requires you to know your password.

Instructions

1. If the main screen reads "Phone Locked," choose "Unlock" from the lower left-hand portion of the screen. Enter your password and select OK. Entering the wrong password three times will display "ENTER PUK." You will need to call customer service to resolve the issue.

2. To lock the phone, choose "Menu" from the main screen. Select "Settings" and then scroll down and select "Security." Choose "Phone Lock" and press the left or right arrow on your directional pad. Press "OK" and enter your password.

3. Change your password by selecting "Menu" from the main screen. Go to "Settings," then "Security," and then "Change Password." If you have not yet set a password, the default is 1234. Enter either your password or the default and press "OK." Enter your new password, press "OK," and then verify the password by re-entering it.
