Comdial Instructions

Comdial officially was incorporated in 1977. In 1997, Comdial was the second largest manufacturer of telecommunication devices for businesses, second only to AT&T. Comdial phones are equipped with many features, such as multiple phone line selection, last phone number redial, placing calls on hold, breaking through in-office busy signals and viewing the total cost of the current or last phone call placed.

Instructions

1. Press the red flashing line selection button to accept an incoming call. Talk into the unit's speakerphone or handset. Check the LCD screen to view the Caller ID information for the incoming call if the Comdial phone is equipped with this feature.

2. Press one of the multiple line buttons on the telephone's keypad to select a line, then listen for a dial tone. Use the keypad to dial a phone number to make a call.

3. Press the "#" button to redial the last number called from the phone. Press the "ARDL" button to continually redial -- every 10 minutes -- the last number dialed. Pick up the unit's handset when a ringing tone comes through the speaker to talk to the person on the other end.

4. Press the "COST" button to view the total cost of the current phone call. Press the "HOLD" button twice to display the cost of the last call made.

5. Press the "NEXT" button, then the "OVER" button to use the executive override feature and break through a busy signal.

6. Press the "HOLD" button to place a current phone call on hold. Press the flashing button to select the line on hold to resume the held call.

Messaging System

7. Place a call to a busy number, then press the "NEXT" button. Press "MSG," then place the receiver back in the unit to hang up and terminate the call. The "Message Waiting" light will be displayed on the busy phone.

8. Place a call to a number that does not answer at all and press the "MSG" button. The "Message Waiting" light will display on the unanswered phone.

9. Press the "INTERCOM" button, then press "HOLD" to answer and receive a message when the "Message Waiting" light displays on your phone.
