Troubleshoot A Navman S30 3d

The Navman S30 3D is a multifunction GPS navigation device. The Navman uses its 3.5-inch touch screen for input and renders maps in 3D in daytime or nighttime color modes for maximum navigational convenience. Of course, these vehicles don't count for much if the unit isn't working properly. There are a number of problems that can cause the Navman S30 3D to stop functioning. Fortunately, most of them are easy to identify and fix.

Instructions

1. Turn the Navman off by holding the power button in the upper left corner of the device until the screen goes blank.

2. Plug the unit into its charger using the USB port on the bottom of the unit. The battery indicator light next to the power switch should turn orange, indicating that the device is charging. Once the light has turned green the charge is complete. If the light does not turn on, verify that the charger is plugged into a working outlet.

3. Turn the unit on once the charge is complete by holding the power button until the screen turns on.

4. Tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen, tap the right directional button at the bottom of the screen, then select the "Preferences" option.

5. Select the "Map Display" option. Tap the right scroll button twice to view the map select screen. Ensure that the continent that you want to view maps for is selected. Tap the check icon in the lower right corner.

6. Tap the "Screen" option. Adjust the sliders so that they are just high enough for you to see the screen. Setting the brightness value higher than 70 percent can cause your device to overheat, so try to keep the value below 70 percent. Tap the left scroll button to go back to the preferences screen then tap the right scroll button to go to the next preferences screen.

7. Tap the "GPS Status" icon, and then the the "Reset GPS" button. This will cause the GPS to search for your current location and is likely to fix any GPS problems. Tap the right arrow to scroll to the next screen. Tap the "Normal" GPS mode option then tap the check icon. Tap the right scroll button to go to the next preferences screen.

8. Tap the "Saved Info" icon. Select "Reset Factory Defaults" then tap "Yes" to confirm. Note that this will erase most of the data in the device. This step should only be performed if all of the other steps failed to fix your device.
