Specifications Of A Jbl Ms8

Harman International's JBL MS-8 is an equalizer intended to upgrade the sound quality of car stereo systems. This device goes between the stereo and the speakers and attempts to automatically optimize audio performance for your specific car and your specific equipment setup in a way that is safe for the vehicle, along with allowing manual fine-tuning.


Basics


The JBL MS-8 endeavors to improve both OEM and aftermarket stereo frequency response, stereo imaging, bass, clarity, detail and dynamics performance. An included binaural headset microphone, a display and a wireless controller are used for calibration purposes. The result is intended to be a flat-response, full-bandwidth optimized signal using multiple input channels.


Features








DSP equalization improves tonal accuracy, and DSP time correction synchronizes time arrival for up to four different seating positions. Crossover points and crossover slopes are selectable, and Logic 7 surround processing enables surround-sound from 2-channel source material. Volume, subwoofers, bass, treble, balance and fader are all controllable, and five custom settings are savable.


Basic Specifications90dB, and the line-in/speaker out signal-to-noise ratio is >85dB.








Voltage Specifications


The MS-8's maximum speaker-level input voltage is 15V, its maximum line input voltage is 2.8V and its maximum line output voltage is also 2.8V. This device's maximum current draw is 16A and its standby current draw is <0.01A. Full-range stereo auxiliary input is also possible with the JBL MS-8.
