Ford F750 Specs

When the Ford Motor Co. sought to improve its standing in the world of medium-duty commercial vehicles, according to OwnersManualSource.com, it released the 2008 edition of the F-750. With several transmission choices and, as of 2010, two diesel-family engine options along with three different cab possibilities, buyers can chose Ford F-750 specifications to suit their needs.

Engines

Ford Trucks Online explains that the 2010 F-750 models come with either a Cummins 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine or a 7.2-liter caterpillar turbo. The 2009 held a Cummins 6.7-liter ISB, I-6 engine with an iron block and heads with a horsepower range of 200 to 325, according to Truck Trend.

Transmission

As of 2009, the F-750 comes equipped with one of five manual transmission options or one of four automatic transmission options, reports Truck Trend. Buyers could choose between the Eaton FS-5406A six-speed manual, FO-5406B-DM3 six-speed ultrashift manual and TTC (Spicer) ES56-7B seven-speed manual. The automatic options include an Allison 2500 five-speed automatic, Allison 3000 six-speed automatic and Allison 3500 six-speed automatic.

Suspension

The F-750's rear suspension boasts a multi-leaf live axle with variable-rate leaf springs and weight ratings between 13,500 and 23,000 lbs. The front features a beam axle with parabolic taper leaf springs. The weight rating for the front runs from 8,500 to 13,000 lbs.

Capacity

The F-750 has three cab options: the "regular cab," "super cab" and the "crew cab." The seating capacity for the regular cab holds two to three people, while both the super cab and crew cabs will accommodate up to six people.

Price Range

Prices for a Ford F-750 vary dramatically depending on the year, model and mileage of the vehicle. F-750 trucks from 2004 and newer cost anywhere between $17,000 as a baseline, up to $100,000 for more recent models with low or zero mileage, according to ads on several online truck sales websites. Not surprisingly, the lower the mileage and the better shape of the F-750, the more you can expect to pay.
