Make An Led Throwie Magnet

Having light in the most convenient places is a luxury anyone can have these days with a bit of ingenuity. LED lighting produces the brightest of lights in small dark spaces. Having a lighted magnet in your home will reduce the bumps in the night associated with fumbling in the dark. With a little creativity you can make your own LED throwie magnet.

Instructions

1. Insert the CR2032 battery between the prongs of the small diffused LED. Make sure that you squeeze the prongs together so that both points are touching the battery.

2. Check that the light from the LED is solid and not flickering. Once the battery has proven effective at keeping the LED lit cut a 1-inch piece of Scotch tape to secure the battery.

3. Wrap the tape around the battery and LED. To do this hold the prongs to the battery so the LED lights up again. Secure the tape tightly to the prongs so the light does not flicker or turn off.

4. Place the disc magnet on the positive side of the lithium battery. Make sure the magnet clings to the battery, even through the tape. If the magnet is on the battery's negative side, the magnet will repel the battery, even when taped together.

5. Wrap the magnet with tape and secure it to the battery. The LED light may flicker once or twice but shouldn't fade out once the magnet is fully secure.

6. Stand at least a foot away from the refrigerator or any surface where you want your magnet to stick. Throw the magnet lightly and watch as it clings to the nearest magnet-friendly surface.
