Sirius To A Chrysler Rbk Radio

A great way to battle the monotony of your local radio channels is to install a satellite radio. Sirius satellite radio offers hundreds of channels ranging from music to news and entertainment. Your Chrysler can easily work with a Sirius car unit once everything is set up properly. Since the RBK radios don't have a tape deck for you to use to connect the Sirius radio, you can use the Chrysler radio to broadcast the Sirius connection wirelessly using an FM extender.

Instructions

1. Set up the mounting frame in your Chrysler. Use a cleaning solution to wipe down the dashboard area. The location depends on your personal taste, but choose somewhere that is within reach of the driver. Peel off the adhesive strip on the Sirius mount and press it down on the dashboard. Hold it there firmly for a minute, then wait a day for the mount to set before continuing the installation.

2. Connect the Sirius radio so that it fits into place in the dashboard mount.

3. Set the magnetic antenna to your roof making sure to leave a few inches of room from any edges. The mount can go anywhere on the top of the Chrysler as long as it is not on a window or moving part such as the trunk.

4. Feed the antenna wire under the rubber molding around your Chrysler windows and continue to run it under the door weatherstripping. Run it through the front seat carpet on the passenger side until it reaches the Sirius mount, then plug it into the Sirius radio.

5. Plug the Sirius cigarette lighter adapter into the cigarette lighter socket. Connect the other jack into the back of your Sirius radio.

6. Attach the FM extender adapter to your windshield. The extender location depends on the type of car antenna you have in your Chrysler. If you have a traditional front antenna or a whip antenna located on the back trunk, mount the FM extender vertically on the passenger side window. If the car antenna is on the roof, mount the extender horizontally on the center of your front window. Use the plastic sticky mounts to attach the extender, then run the wire back to the back of your Sirius device.

7. Turn on the Sirius radio and the Chrysler RBK radio. Look through your local radio stations on the RBK radio and find a station that is not in use. For this example, assume the channel is 88.7.

8. Navigate to the "Settings" menu and select "FM Transmitter." Choose the FM unused radio station you found earlier, 88.7 for this example. Set the FM transmitter to use the radio station and you hear the Sirius radio channels through the selected station.
