Recharge The Battery For A Canon Powershot 870

A Canon PowerShot 870 utilizes a lithium battery pack to power the camera.

The PowerShot 870, a digitial camera manufactured by Canon, features eight megapixels, 3.8 x optical zoom and a 3-inch, 230,000-pixel LCD display screen. The digital camera utilizes a rechargeable lithium battery pack to provide power. The battery should be charged as needed using the battery charger.

Instructions

1. Remove the rechargeable lithium battery pack from the Canon PowerShot 870 digital camera. Slide the battery cover to the right. Once fully extended, lift the cover upward to open the battery housing unit. Press the battery holding latch upward and tilt the camera sideways or upside down, so the battery slides out of the battery housing unit.

2. Align the arrow on the battery pack with the arrow on the charger and slide the battery into the Canon PowerShot 870 battery charger. The battery should lie flat in the battery charger.

3. Plug the charger into a working electrical outlet. Allow the battery to charge. The process will take up to 2 hours and five minutes for a completely drained battery. Once the charging light changes from orange to green, charging has been completed. Remove the charger from the electrical outlet.

4. Lift up on the battery to remove it from the battery charger. Align the battery pack so the arrow is pointing downward and facing the front side of the camera. Slide the battery into the camera until it snaps into place. Lower the battery housing unit door and slide to the left.
