Anyone used siliconizer a elastomeric roof sealer

I am still waiting for bids on a shingle or metal overlay. Wondered if anyone had tried this product from Home Depot on a 20 year old shingle roof? Its made by Lanco is an elasomeric roof sealer If your roof is 20 years old, these products are not going to help you. It would be a waste of money. Also, I would not do an overlay. Your not saving enough money to matter, and if you did an overlay, you would not know the condition of your subroof, which is very important. I would do a complete tearoff, new metal, new flashing new etc. Do It right. Yes thanks Jack, I am still waiting for the contractors to call back or stop by, seems down here in Florida it is hard to get em' motivated! Up north they would be killing each other to get the job !!! I used it over a new roll off tar flat roof as insullation. It works great by reflecting solar rays and disipating absorbed heat. The treated area remains cool to the touch while untreated areas are 120 degrees or above. I would not recomend it on a 20 year roof. And you would not want to use it on visible areas. Cheers!
