Connect A Vcr To Cable Tv

Cable TV signal usually travels through coaxial, or coax, cable. There are two general types of connectors for coaxial cable. The first type screws onto the threaded stems on the outlets. Newer designs simply push onto the connector stem. In order to connect cable TV to anything, you need a length of coax with connectors on both ends that can span the distance from the outlet on the wall to the device you are connecting, such as a VCR.

Instructions

1. Connect one end of one of the coax cables to the cable TV wall outlet. If you have a digital converter, connect this end to the output for the converter instead.

2. Locate the "Antenna In" connection on the VCR. Connect the other end of that coax cable to this connection.

3. Locate the "Antenna Out" connection on the VCR and connect one end of the remaining coaxial cable to it.

4. Connect the other end of that coaxial cable to the antenna connection on your TV. This setup allows you to watch normal cable TV when the VCR is turned off or to watch and record cable TV through the VCR's tuner when it is turned on.
