Hitachi camcorders allow you to record video directly to DVD-R recordable discs, or DVD-RW and DVD+RW rewritable discs. For these disks to be viewable in a standard DVD player, they must be finalized. No further recording is allowed on a finalized DVD-R disc, but rewritable discs can be later unfinalized to continue recording onto the media. Hitachi camcorders can only finalize discs when powered by the included A/C adapter, so make sure to plug your camcorded into an outlet and not use its battery.
Instructions
1. Plug your Hitachi camcorder into a wall outlet using the included A/C adapter.
2. Insert the disc into the Hitachi camcorder.
3. Press "Disc Navigation" on the left side of the camcorder.
4. Press "Menu" located immediately to the bottom left of the previous button.
5. Press the left or right buttons to the highlight "Finalize Disc" from the Disc menu, and press "Play" to select the option.
6. Select "Yes" in the confirmation screen to begin finalization. An "F" appears on the Disc Navigation screen when the disc has been finalized.
