Set Up A Slingbox On A Pc

Computer monitors are available in sizes as large as televisions. If you want to watch television in a room in your home that is not wired for cable, a Slingbox may exactly what you need. By connecting your Slingbox to your home network, you can watch television on any computer that is connected to the same network.

Instructions

Connect Your Slingbox to Your Home Network

1. Ensure that your Slingbox is connected to your audio or video sources. Depending on the Slingbox model that you purchased, you can set up as many as four devices to work with your Slingbox.

2. Connect your Slingbox to your router with the included network cable. The Slingbox will then be accessible to the computers that are connected to your router through wired or wireless connections.

3. Note that if your router is connected to an internet source such as a cable or DSL modem, you will also be able to access your Slingbox over the Internet.

Configure Your Slingbox on Your Computer

4. Log onto a computer on your network on which you have administrative privileges. You will need to install the software that was included with your Slingbox. If you lost the CD that was included, you can download the software from Sling Media (see Resources below).
