Move Tv Channels With A Digital Receiver

A digital receiver is an electrical device capable of picking up and decoding digital broadcast signals. Cable, satellite, and digital converter boxes are all varieties of digital receivers for TV. Moving or flipping through TV channels with a TV digital receiver is a very simple thing to do. But before you commence channel surfing you first have to make sure your digital receiver is connected properly to your TV. Once this is done, moving through TV channels with your digital receiver is as easy as pressing a button.

Instructions

Connect Your Digital Receiver to Your TV

1. Turn off your TV before making any cable connections.

2. Screw the coaxial cable transporting your main TV signal into your digital receiver's RF input port. If your digital receiver is a digital converter box, the RF input port is often labeled "Ant. In." If your digital receiver is a cable box, the RF input port is often labeled "Cable In."

3. Use a coaxial cable or a set of audio/video cables to connect the output from your digital receiver to the equivalent input on your TV set. If you decide to use audio/video cables to make this connection, bear in mind that each audio/video cable is color-coded to match the jack in which it's supposed to be inserted. See the tip if you're also hooking up a VCR or DVD recorder to your TV.

4. Turn on your TV and digital receiver. Set your TV to channel 3. And if you used audio/video cables to connect your digital receiver to your TV (step 3), use your TV remote's "Input" button to set your TV's video input channel to coincide with the proper A/V input port being used.

Use Your Digital Receiver to Channel Surf

5. Turn on your TV and digital receiver.

6. Press the Channel Up or Down button on your cable or satellite remote control, or on your cable or satellite receiver itself, to flip through the TV channels picked up by your digital receiver. Or, if you know what channel you want to see, use the number pad on your remote control to enter the channel number. If you're using a digital converter box as a digital receiver, complete step 3.

7. Press "Menu" on the remote of your digital converter box. Find and select the option to perform an automatic channel scan. Once the channel scan is complete, use your digital converter box remote control at the box and press the Channel Up or Down button to flip through the TV channels picked up by the box. Or, if you know what channel you want to see, use the number pad on your remote to enter the channel number.
