Nokia 6102i Instructions

The Nokia 6102i is a mobile flip-phone released in 2006 for AT&T. The 6102i features two color LCD screens which support animated wallpapers, a VGA camera for photographs and videos, high-speed data transmission and Bluetooth. The phone is easy to use out of the box after a short setup process.

SIM Card and Battery

The SIM card and battery are needed for full operation of your phone. The SIM card is used to connect your phone to the network and is needed to make and receive calls, text messages and to perform any data transmission. The SIM card can also be used to store information, such as contact names and numbers and pictures. The battery powers the camera.

Both the SIM card and the battery are installed in the back of the camera. To install the SIM card, remove the battery cover by pressing the release switch and slide the cover down. Pull up the SIM card holder and place the card, contacts facing down, in place. Press the holder down to lock the SIM card in place.

Insert the battery with the contacts facing the top of the phone and the writing on the battery facing up. Slide the cover back into place to complete the installation.

Phone Calls

To make a call, open the phone, dial the number and press the "Phone" key located next to the navigation controls. You can also make a call by opening your contacts menu, scrolling to the number you want to call and pressing the "Phone" key. When you want to end a call, press the "End" key or close the phone.

You can answer a call by opening the phone. If the phone is open when a call comes in, press the "Phone" key to answer.

Text Messages

The 6102i can send and receive text messages from other mobile phones. You can type the messages using the letters found on the number pad. If you want to send a text message, choose "Menu," "Messages," "Create Message" and "Text Message." After typing the message, select "Send" and enter the number of the receiving phone. You can also scroll through your contact list to choose who will receive the message.

When you receive a text message, open the phone and select "Show" to read the message. You can also review old messages by selecting "Menu," "Messages" and "Inbox."
