Fast Charge Nimh Batteries

NiMH batteries are the type of rechargeable batteries that are often used in digital cameras. You can charge a battery faster if you use a special type of charger. NiMH batteries need about 150 amp hours to make 100 amp hours of energy. It is important to purchase a high-quality charger for your NiMH batteries, since poor quality materials can actually shorten the lifespan of your batteries.

Instructions

1. Purchase a fast NiMH charger. Some brands include Lenmar MACH1-Gamma, Maha C401FS and Rayovac PS4. You can charge up to four batteries in four to six hours with these types of chargers.

2. Plug the charger into an outlet and choose the "fast" charging cycle if there is a choice. Snap your batteries into the charger and look at the LED lights on the charger. If there are any blinking lights, that may indicate the battery or cell unit is defective, so remove that battery. The rest of the batteries will start charging immediately.

3. Take the charger off the wall when the lights go out or turn green, which indicates the batteries are fully charged. For best results, remove the batteries no later than three hours after charging is complete.
